When adjusting the tightness of the steering wheel bearings, such as the Mercedes 2026 model, it is necessary to first tighten the adjusting nut with a torque of 300nm. Then loosen the nut by 1/8 turn, install the thrust washer, and tighten the locking nut with a torque of 500-550 Nm. Next, check the axial clearance of the wheels, which should be within the range of 0.03-0.05 millimeters. If the gap does not meet the requirements, it should be readjusted until the gap is suitable.
